Drinking game: I'm packing my suitcase

I'm packing my suitcase drinking game rules

I'm packing my suitcase 🧳 – Detailed rules for the drinking game

Game preparation:

  • Number of players: 3-10 players (the more, the more fun!).

  • Required materials: No accessories required, just drinks for all players.

  • Aim of the game: If you don't have a good memory, you have to drink – and if you make mistakes, you have to drink the glass!

Game play:

  1. Game start:

    • The players sit in a circle or stand next to each other.

    • The first player starts with the classic phrase: “I pack my suitcase and take with me…” and names any object that he would pack in his suitcase (e.g. “…a pair of sunglasses”).

    • The next player must correctly repeat the order of the previously named objects and then add another object. For example: "I'm packing my suitcase and taking... sunglasses and a T-shirt."

    • This process repeats, with each player having to correctly repeat the objects of the previous players before adding their own.

  2. Errors and penalties:

    • Anyone who makes a mistake, i.e. forgets an object or repeats the order incorrectly, has to drink their glass – that means they have to drink the entire drink in one go.

    • The game continues, and the next player starts again with the same phrase: “I pack my suitcase and take with me…”

  3. Error counter:

    • Every mistake is counted, so the player who makes the most mistakes (and therefore has to drink the most glasses) is considered the loser of the game.

    • If a player makes a lot of mistakes, you could have a “penalty round” in which the player has to take extra shots or take a bigger drink.

Additional rules and variations:

  • More difficult objects: To make the game more challenging, you can specify that the named objects must be in a specific category (e.g., only clothes or only beach-related items). This makes it harder to keep track of the order!

  • Extended order: If the group already has a good memory, you could add a rule that requires the player to not only repeat the previous objects, but also the number of objects. For example: "I'm packing my suitcase and taking with me... 3 T-shirts and 2 sunglasses."

  • Faster pace: If the group wants to speed things up, you can set a time limit for each player (e.g., 10 seconds to repeat the objects and add another one). Whoever doesn't make a mistake within that time can move on to the next player.

Perfect for:

  • Groups who like a bit of nostalgia and remember the classic children's game.

  • Players who want to test their memory and have a lot of fun at the same time.

  • An ideal drinking game to lighten the mood and make everyone laugh.

Conclusion: " I'm Packing My Suitcase " is a simple yet incredibly fun drinking game that tests both memory and reaction speed. The larger the group, the more fun the game becomes, as the order of turns lengthens with each turn and the error rate increases. Ideal for a lively party where every player can test their memory and drinking skills!
